March Brings Restart of DuBois Bridge Project

CLEARFIELD – The week of March 2 will bring the re-start of PennDOT’s bridge replacement job along DuBois Street in the city of DuBois. With the re-start, Parkway Drive at the DuBois Street end will again be closed to through traffic. That closure will be in effect beginning March 2.

Parkway Drive will be closed in the area of Kohlhepp’s True Value, but both Kohlhepp’s entrances (on DuBois Street and Parkway Drive) will remain open through the first 2009 construction phase. DuBois Street will remain open to through traffic and drivers will be able to access all businesses and recreation on Parkway Drive by using Liberty Boulevard.

Minor traffic delays can be expected in the DuBois Street area, with flaggers in place as necessary. Work this year includes placement of a temporary road and bridge, removal of the existing bridge and construction of a new bridge. All work on the job is weather dependent. Francis J. Palo, Inc. is contractor on the $3.8 million dollar project. The new bridge is expected to be open to traffic by September.

PennDOT reminds motorists to drive with caution in work zones, be alert for stopped or slowed traffic, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up. For more on information on roadway construction and maintenance operations, visit PennDOT’s Web site.
