GM5: January 2009

Welcome to the January 2009 edition of the GM5. We hope the first month of 2009 went well for everyone out there.

Grampian Man Charged with Assault

GRAMPIAN – A Grampian man was charged with aggravated assault and related charges after allegedly waiving a gun in a woman’s direction and threatening to shoot her on Wednesday.

James A. Brock II, 29, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.

Three Arrested After Police Called to Nichols Street

CLEARFIELD – Three people were taken into custody following a call to police about a protection from abuse violation on Nichols Street on Wednesday.

According to the Clearfield Borough Police Department 27-year-old Donald Carey was arrested for allegedly violating the court order. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Richard Ireland and placed in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Police stated that an 18-year-old Clearfield man was found hiding in the residence. He was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in court. Charges against him are pending.

A 22-year-old Clearfield woman was also arrested. She was wanted by the Lawrence Township Police Department. She was arraigned before Ireland and placed in Clearfield County Jail for failure to pay fines.

Clearfield Man Accused of Indecent Exposure Waives Hearing

CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield man accused of exposing himself to two girls waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

Leslie Williams is charged with two counts of indecent exposure.

According to the affidavit of probable cause on Aug. 4 two girls went to Burger King with Williams. The girls reportedly asked their parents to spend the afternoon with Williams. The parents agreed.

The girls went to the Williams’ residence and sat on the porch for a time. They later went inside and the girls were taken to a bedroom upstairs. Once inside Williams allegedly asked the girls if they wanted to play something involving male/female genitalia.

Three Injured in Clearfield Police Chase

CLEARFIELD – Members of the Clearfield Borough Police Department were part of a pursuit on Friday afternoon.

According to police they were attempting to serve a warrant on a 37-year-old Clearfield man on Healy Avenue. Police stated that he failed to comply and fled the scene, leading the police from Healy Avenue to Cherry Street, then to Second Street and onto Reed Street, where he struck another vehicle head-on.

State police investigated the accident and reported that the Clearfield man suffered minor injury. A 65-year-old Clearfield woman and 12-year-old Olanta boy were treated for minor injuries.

PSP DuBois: Accident Closes I-80 Eastbound Lanes

DUBOIS – State police in DuBois have reported a road closure on Interstate 80.

According to police an accident has caused both eastbound lanes of I-80 to closed. The accident occurred near milemarker 80. Traffic is being rerouted off of exit 78 to state Route 78 to I-80 exit 81.
