CCCD Announces Tree Sale

CLEARFIELD – This year, The Clearfield County Conservation District will be having a tree sale to encourage landowners to plant and maintain trees on their properties.

Trees are a very integral part of our natural resources, and provide years of pleasure for the humans and wildlife species that depend on them. The ecological and economic benefits of planting trees are numerous, and can be viewed at ArborDay.org. The species that we have selected are suitable for many uses, including aesthetic pleasure, wildlife food and habitat, windbreaks, erosion control, stream buffers, Christmas trees, etc.

“We have tried to keep our prices low to encourage planting and reforestation,” said Susan Reed, district manager. “Proceeds from this sale will support local conservation efforts and environmental education programs in Clearfield County.

“If you, or someone you know, would like to receive a tree sale flyer complete with color photographs, and are not already on the list, please call the District Office at 814-765-2629.”

The full color form will also be available on the CCCD’s Web site. All orders must be prepaid and received in their office by Feb. 25.
