Clearfield Borough Wants to Remind Residents About Snow Removal

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Borough would like to remind residents of proper procedures when dealing with snow.

According to a police report the borough has been receiving numerous complaints of blocked streets, alleys, sidewalks and intersections due to large amounts of snow. Anyone intentionally blocking them with snow could face charges.

Residents are also required by the borough code to remove snow from their sidewalks within 12 hours of any snowfall. If the sidewalks are not cleared and the borough is required to open the passageway the borough could recoup the cost from the property owner.

The Clearfield Borough Police Department and the Borough of Clearfield are asking that all property owners, tenants and those removing snow to cooperate and make sure all public passageways are open and not obstructed.
