Charges Filed Against Man Accused of Leading Police on Chase

CLEARFIELD – Charges were filed against a Clearfield man accused of leading police on a chase last Friday that resulted in three people being injured.

Shane Litzinger has been charged with felony counts of fleeing and eluding accidents involving injury, careless driving, reckless driving, resisting arrest and recklessly endangering another person.

The Clearfield Borough Police Department reported earlier this week that Litzinger had lead them on chase after they attempted to serve a warrant on him. The chase went from Healy Avenue to Cherry Street, then to Second Street and onto Reed Street, where he struck another vehicle head-on. The report says he then attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended several feet from the scene.

State police investigated the accident and reported that Liztinger suffered minor injury. A 65-year-old Clearfield woman and 12-year-old Olanta boy were treated for minor injuries.

Litzinger is currently in Clearfield County Jail.
