DUBOIS – The Sandy Township’s Supervisors brought up a potential confusion to the citizens of the township concerning taxes and letters some have been receiving. Sandy Township and the City of DuBois both share Central Tax for their school tax collection. The township also uses Central Tax for their earned income tax.
However, DuBois uses Berkheimer to collect its earned income taxes, and the supervisors noted some of them have been receiving notices from Berkheimer on the grounds that Sandy Township uses DuBois for its mailing address.
The township supervisors would like everyone who lives in Sandy Township to know that the township hasn’t switched over and they still need to go through Central Tax.
