FALLS CREEK – Pennsylvania state police in DuBois released a statement regarding a passenger plane’s emergency landing at the DuBois Regional Airport on Monday.
According to police Flight 9290 headed to Franklin was on approach when they were not able to deploy their front landing gear. The crew advised flight control at DUJ of the situation and were advised to return to DuBois.
On approach the landing gear still would not deploy and the crew was forced to make an emergency landing.
The Beech 1900D twin engine plane was able to land on the rear wheels and gently bring the nose to the ground and slid to a stop about 2,800 feet from initial touchdown. The crew and passengers were assisted by airport fire personnel and PSP DuBois.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were called in to investigate. Preliminary investigations are being completed by PSP DuBois and are inconclusive at this time.
Police reported that there no injuries as a result of the emergency landing.
Also assisting at the scene were Falls Creek Fire and Rescue, Warsaw Township Fire Company and DuBois Emergency Medical Services.
