CLEARFIELD – The staff in Clearfield County’s Elections Office received a ‘thank you’ on Tuesday.
Clearfield County Republican Committee Chairman James Flowers thanked the office for their hard work and professionalism through two letters.
Clearfield County MIS Director Jim Strickland was also thanked for his help during voting machine demonstration.
“It’s really a team effort,” said Chief Clerk Lisa McFadden.
Commissioner Chairman John Sobel said that election went well, with about four machines that had mechanical malfunctions. Sobel said the problem came about when voters would press some Republican candates’ names and it would register it as the Democrat candidate. He said he believed that no one cast a vote they didnot meen to as voters must review their selections before they are submitted. He said that as soon as the problems were reported, runners were sent to fix the problems.
The commissioners noted that during federal elections the state sends someone to monitor the process. In this instance, the person had requested to come back to Clearfield County.
