PHILIPSBURG – State police in Philipsburg have reported a simple assault/child abuse case involving a 3-year-old boy.
According to police on Oct. 22 the Philipsburg boy was treated at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for a subdural hematoma that was allegedly caused by a toy falling on the boy’s head.
The medical staff at Geisinger felt that the injury is not consistent with a relatively light object striking the child’s head from a relatively short height.
The investigation into the incident continues.
