Downtown DuBois Group Receives Art Grant

DUBOIS -The Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group was recently awarded a grant through the PA Council on the Arts at a ceremony held in State College at the Schlow Centre Regional Library. The group received its first award for a metal sculpture that will be crafted by metal artist Richard Wilson of DuBois. The sculpture will become part of a larger project in downtown DuBois that includes new green space, benches and lighting. The downtown group was one of 14 recipients from central Pennsylvania.

The PA Partners in the Arts is the regional arts funding partnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts; a state agency. State government funding comes through an annual appropriation by Pennsylvania’s Assembly and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. Regional administration of the grant program is through Galaxy; an Arts in Education Program partner. The mission of the PA Council on the arts is to foster the excellence, diversity, and vitality of the arts in Pennsylvania and to broaden the availability and appreciation to those arts thought the state.
