Sandy Township Looks at Potential Tax Increase

SANDY TOWNSHIP – The Sandy Township Supervisors announced the basics of the general budget for 2009 which will include a millage increase.

The current millage is 11.25, but in what will be the first hike in the rate sine 2002 it will jump to a total of 14.5 mills. The jump of 3.25 mills comes from a decrease in money coming from the state. Increasing expenses include labor, fuel and materials. As such this increase is just to maintain the current level of services.
