CLEARFIELD – The annual Mountain Laurel Kennel Club Pet Memorial and Healing Service is set for June 22 at 6 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, corner of East Seventh and Dorey streets in Clearfield’s East End neighborhood with the Rev. Rodger Gorton officiating.
The Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home co-sponsors the event, which features a candle lighting ceremony to honor deceased animals and intercessory pray for ill or ailing animals.
“The service is a dignified way for the community to come together in support of one another and in tribute to the animals we loved so much. Being able to offer healing prayers for our sick animals is also a great comfort,” said MLKC President Sue Kordish.
Participants are encouraged to bring collars, blankets or favorite toys to be blessed during the intercessory prays, she noted.
Participants may also share memories and stories about their animals, whether they passed away this past year or many years ago.
A reception will follow in the church Fellowship Hall.
