Rising Fuel Costs May Cause Sandy Township to Adjust Budget

DUBOIS – Sandy Township may soon have to revisit their 2008 operating budget.

Township Manager Dick Castonguay touched on the rising costs of fuel and how it is affecting the township. He stated that through April of this year, the township has spent over $40,000 in fuel. That is an increase of over 100 percent from 2005.

At this point through 2007, the township had spent over $30,000 in fuel.

“We’re going to have to take a serious look at adjustments to the budget,” said Castonguay.
