Keltz, Barnett Resigns from CASD

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area School District Board of Directors saw the resignation of both Superintendent Dr. Denise Keltz and Business Manager Jason Barnett at a special meeting Monday night. Both Keltz and Barnett had their resignations approved unanimously by the board.

Keltz served the district for four years. Her resignation, which is for retirement purposes, goes into effect Aug. 18.

“I’ve had a great experience here,” she said.

According to Keltz, the district faced challenges but was able to respond.

“I think we have moved forward and raised the bar. I hope the next person who steps in continues to do so,” she said.

Keltz said the district’s community has supported her both professionally and personally.

“It’s just been great,” she said.

Board President R. Denning Gearhart said he appreciated the opportunity to serve with her.

Barnett, who has been with the district for three years, resigned in order to take a position in the Brookville Area School District for “family reasons.” His resignation is effective July 7.

Like Keltz, he said his experience has been incredible.

“I’ve been able to learn the business and work with great people,” he said

Barnett said he was grateful for the opportunity to serve the district.

“He’s going to be missed,” Board Vice President Dave Glass said of his colleague.

Both Keltz and Barnett wish the board the best of luck with its future endeavors.
