CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area High School juniors and seniors and their dates will be able to attend the 2008 Mardi Gras themed “Midnight Masquerade” prom. The Prom will be held Saturday, May 10 from 7-11 p.m. The promenade will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. This is something new this year the junior class has decided to do. Prom goers will need to be at CHS between 6:15-6:30 p.m. to line-up for the promenade according to their ticket numbers. The promenade will take place under the canopy in front of the high school. Students will proceed through to the gymnasium after they are announced. Family, friends, and the community are welcome to attend the promenade to take pictures and see their favorite couples all decked out.
The gymnasium will be open to the public prior to the promenade from 5:15-6:00 .pm. The public is encouraged to attend during this time if they wish to see the gymnasium. The doors to the gymnasium will be closed to the public at 6:00 p.m.
Ticket sales will be outside of room 346 at the high school May 5-7 at a cost of $25/couple or $15/single. Snacks and drinks will be available during prom, as well as various prizes to be given away during the evening donated by local businesses.
Students are also encouraged to sign the “Prom Promise” pledge cards located in the main office and career center. This is a pledge students sign promising they will not drink alcohol or do drugs on prom night. Students will also be required to sign-out if they leave before the prom commences. If parents or guardians would like to be notified if their child leaves the prom early, please call or email Tiffany Warlow no later than Friday at 3:00 p.m.
The advisors for the junior class are Leann Schaeffer and Tiffany Warlow. For more information or questions, you are encouraged to call Mrs. Warlow at 765-2401 ext. 2206 or email at twarlow@clearfield.org.
