CLEARFIELD – Online ticket sales for the Clearfield County Fair grandstand events and concerts as well as advanced gate passes are set to launch on May 5 at 10 a.m. on the fair’s official Web site.
This is the first time in fair history that online ticket sales have been available. The 148th Clearfield County Fair features a stunning lineup with Daughtry, Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert, Cinderella and Warrant and Foreigner. Tickets are filled in the order they are received. Visa and Mastercard will accepted.
A new advance $3 single gate admission pass and a $5 gate admission/ride pass will be offered this year. These passes will only be available until July 27 or while supplies last. Bates Brothers Amusements will be returning to provide quality rides on the midway.
Daughtry will rock the stage on Saturday, August 2. Since the release of his first album in November 2006, the album Daughtry has gone triple-platinum, selling over seven million copies worldwide. The band’s first single, “It’s Not Over,” was nominated for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Group or Duo at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. The second single, “Home,” was nominated for Best Pop Performance by a Group or Duo and won the People’s Choice Award for Best Rock Song. “Home” was featured as the “walk off” song for eliminated American Idol contestants last year.
Country sensations Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert will perform on Wednesday, July 30. Aldean’s newest album, Relentless, which, fittingly enough, is paced by the supremely attitudinal single “Johnny Cash” and presents a wide emotional spectrum – from the breaking-loose defiance of “Johnny Cash” to such snagged-by-love laments as “Who’s Kissing You Tonight,” “Back in This Cigarette” and the title cut.
Miranda Lambert first exploded onto the scene as a finalist in the 2003 season of the Nashville Star television series. Her confidence and firepower were evident in her first album Kerosene, as it debuted at number one on the country charts (only the sixth time a new artist entered in at the top) and went on to earn nominations for the Country Music’s Horizon Award and the American Country Music’s Top New Female Vocalist Award. She also earned a Grammy nomination. Now, the two-time CMA Horizon Award nominee returns with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, on which she raises the stakes both musically and emotionally. Lambert received three ACM nominations, Top Female Vocalist, Album of the Year and Single Record of the Year for “Famous in a Small Town.”
Foreigner is slated to rock the fair Tuesday, July 29. Throughout the 70’s and 80’s, Foreigner was universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world, racking up scores of smash hits, multi-platinum albums and sold out concert tours. From “Cold as Ice” to “Hot Blooded,” “Urgent” to “Jukebox Hero” and “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” to the chart topper “I want to Know What Love Is,” Foreigner’s thrilling mix of blustery blues and impeccably crafted pop continues to captivate generation after generation of music fans. Today, nearly 30 years later, Foreigner is an ensemble of talented musicians, as each adds their individual credentials to the mix, making the band stronger and more powerful than ever.
To top off an already rocking line-up, Cinderella and Warrant will perform on Friday, August 1. Cinderella, a hard rock ‘glam’ band that formed in the mid 80’s in Pennsylvania, was discovered playing in a bar by famous rock star Jon Bon Jovi. Their debut album, Night Songs (1986), was one of their best albums, including the hits “Shake Me,” “Nobody’s Fool” and “Somebody Save Me.” The second album, Long Cold Winter (1988), did even better, with the hits “Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone)” and “Gypsy Road.” The third album, Heartbreak Station (1990), had more blues style songs, including the title track and “Shelter Me.”
Warrant got the fill of the cherry pie in the 80’s and 90’s, but apparently, that was not enough to squelch the band’s hunger. With the return of its original members for the first time in almost 15 years, Warrant is storming back to the stage. The band hit the rock scene in February 1989 with the release of its debut album, Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich. The CD spawned three singles, “Down Boys,” “Sometimes She Cries” and “Heaven.” Cherry Pie, the band’s second album, solidified Warrant’s standing in rock history. The title track of the record became perhaps the band’s most recognizable hit, and the album peaked at seven on the charts. Nearly 20 years and eight albums later, the buzz surrounding Warrant returns.
The Big Rigs, Modified Tractors and Smokers return with Full Pull Productions Truck and Tractor Pull on Thursday, July 31. The event has been a staple of fun for all ages.
