Penn State DuBois Athletes Honored at Banquet

DUBOIS – Student Athletes from four varsity sports were recently honored at the annual Penn State DuBois Athletics Banquet at the Clarion Hotel in DuBois.

In addition to University Honors, Men’s Basketball players, Kevin Genevro and Dylan Howard have both been named USCAA All-American’s this year.

Genevro has been awarded the university-wide 2008 John S. Egli Outstanding Male Scholar-Athlete Award, and is this year’s Penn State DuBois Men’s Basketball MVP.

Howard holds the distinction of being the first Penn State DuBois Athlete to score 1,000 career points and is the recipient of the 2008 Men’s Basketball Coach’s Award.

Fifteen Athletes received the Academic All Conference Award for maintaining outstanding academic performance in addition to participating in their chosen athletic programs during the 2007-2008 academic year. They are, Renee Burke, Women’s Volleyball; Cortney Yenzi, Women’s Volleyball and Women’s Basketball; Kacie Finalle, Women’s Volleyball; Danica Hamm, Women’s Volleyball; Gina Zapia, Women’s Volleyball; Elizabeth Costanzo, Cross Country; Terry Orvosh, Cross Country; Chad McKendrick, Cross Country; Michael Simpson, Cross Country; Jeffery Skraba, Cross Country; Jonathan Peace, Cross Country; Nathan Fronk, Cross Country; Kevin Genevro, Men’s Basketball, Neil Hanes, Men’s Basketball and Dylan Howard, Men’s Basketball.

Four student Athletes were named to the PSUAC All-Conference Team for exceptional performance in their sport. They are Kevin Genevro, Men’s Basketball; Dylan Howard, Men’s Basketball; Korry Ann Gluczyk, Cross Country and Nathan Fronk, Cross Country.
