CLEARFIELD – Commissioner Joan McMillen read to Children’s Aid Society preschoolers to celebrate Week of the Young Child (April 13-19, 2008). This special week was created by the National Association for the Education of Young Children to raise awareness of the importance of quality early learning for all young children. Over the next few days Children’s Aid Society is encouraging Clearfield County families and communities to celebrate the terrific promise of our young children.
“As a provider of Pre-K Counts and Child Care, I believe one of the most important things we can do to help our children reach their promise is to provide them with quality early learning opportunities everywhere, at home and in early learning programs. Our children’s early years are so important to their future success in school and in life” said Angela Hassinger, program director for the Children’s Aid Society.
Quality early learning opportunities can stimulate a child’s physical, intellectual, and social development so they can enter school ready to learn and ready to achieve.
Children’s Aid Society’s quality early education and care programs are Pre-K Counts and Child Care. Pre-K Counts is high quality pre-kindergarten education for 3 and 4 year olds which is free to families who qualify.
