LT River Access Waiting for Fish and Boat Commission Approval

CLEARFIELD – A proposed river access in Lawrence Township near the Hyde Bridge is still awaiting the approval of one state agency.

Lawrence Township Supervisor Chairman Bill Lawhead said the township is still waiting for approval from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. The township has already received approval from the Department of Conservation and Economic Development.

The land the access point will rest on is being donated by Jim and Sherri Collins, and consists of 1.2 acres. The grant money will be used for a concrete boat launch for both canoes and boats with motors, a parking area and an access road from Washington Avenue.

The grant application was submitted nearly one year ago.
