COOPER TOWNSHIP – State police in Clearfield reported that an accident on Interstate 80 resulted in minor injuries for all involved.
According to police a Cleveleand Heights, Ohio woman was traveling east on I-80 when she fell asleep. Her vehicle left the northern edge of the road and traveled about 200 feet along the north berm. She swerved back onto the roadway, causing her vehicle to overturn twice before it came to rest on its roof.
An 11-year-old passenger was taken to Altoona Regional for treatment. Three other passengers and the driver were taken to Clearfield Hospital for treatment.
The driver will be cited for careless driving.
Police were assisted at the scene by Folmar Towing, Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services, Clearfield EMS, PennDOT and the Morris Township Fire Department.
