DRMC Offers Smoking Cessation Classes

DuBOIS – No time to attend smoking cessation classes during the week? Learn to stop smoking on Saturday mornings.

DuBois Regional Medical Center is hosting an American Lung Association “Freedom from Smoking” class to teach people how to stop smoking. Trained facilitators help participants stop tobacco use.

The classes run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. starting March 29, in the Central Resource Center at DRMC’s west campus. It is the former Central Christian High School building. Classes follow on April 5, 12, 19 and 20, and May 3, 10, and 17.

Many medications can now help with smoking cessation. These medications are a component of the program. Financial aid for the medications is available for those who qualify.

For more information or to register, call DRMC at 375-3575 or 372-2966. The cost of the course is $25 to cover educational materials that the participants keep.

Anyone unable to attend can call the PA Free Quit Line at 1-800-quit-now or 1-800-784-8669, or visit online.
