LT Police Department Works with Cen-Clear, Children as Part of Outreach Program

CLEARFIELD – As part of their public outreach program the Lawrence Township Police Department worked with Cen-Clear Child Services Tuesday.

Twenty-six children, as well as Cen-Clear workers, were given a tour of the police station and shown a police car. Students were also fingerprinted, with those fingerprint cards being sent home to their parents as part of the Child Identificication and Amber Alert programs.

Sgt. Mark Brooks of the LTPD noted that this kind of outreach usually occurs when organizations contact the department.

“We get a chance to reach out to children,” said Brooks.

Brooks said the outreach program gives children and their parents a chance to interact with police and see what duties they perform.

He added that the department also goes to schools as part of its outreach program. Brooks noted that the department was recently at the Christiam Missionary Alliance School for an outreach program.
