Commissioners Approve Agreement Needed for Bionol to Move Forward

CLEARFIELD – GantDaily reported earlier Tuesday on a sign that was raised at the Clearfield County Technology Park for the Bionol Clearfield LLC ethanol plant.

Before Noon the Clearfield County Commissioners approved signatures at their work session for a memorandum of understanding Bionol needs for the closing on property.

The memorandum of understanding is between Bionol, Clearfield County, the Clearfield County Economic Development Corporation, the Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the Office of Budget.

County Solicitor Kim Kesner said that he received word from Bionol that the closing was scheduled for Jan. 30. Kesner was urged to get the proper signatures and e-mail them as well as rush deliver the original to counsel for Bionol.

Kesner said that he later learned that the closing would be delayed until sometime this week. Kesner said that the signature paperwork is in escrow until it could approved by the commissioners.

Kesner noted that while that while it is not the tradition of the commissioners to take action at a work session, the meeting was advertised and that it was within the commissioners’ rights to vote on the issue.
