Salvation Army to Expand Disaster Services

STATE COLLEGE – When disaster strikes, the Salvation Army is focused on meeting the immediate needs of local emergency response and recovery efforts in the community.

The Salvation Army is expanding its emergency disaster capabilities by introducing a mobile canteen that will serve Centre County and the surrounding regions.

The Salvation Army mobile canteen will be manned with a crew of trained emergency disaster volunteers. It will provide emergency responders and disaster survivors’ hot meals, energy snacks and hydrating drinks. In addition, the canteen crews will provide basic emotional and spiritual care.

On Monday a news conference will be held at The University Park Airport hanger P- 6 at Noon.
