BIGLER – A two-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 322 near Tipple lane resulted in five people being airlifted for treatment Thursday night. Police have since reported that one driver died as a result of the accident.
State police in Clearfield originally reported that an unnamed 18-year-old Altoona woman was traveling east on U.S. Route 322, and a second vehicle, a Nissan Pathfinder, was traveling west. The Altoona woman crossed into the westbound lane and struck the Pathfinder head-on.
Officers have since learned the names of those involved. The 18-year-old woman is Jessalyn Reilly. Police reported that she passed away due to blunt force trauma from the accident.
Reilly and the four occupants in the Pathfinder were flown to Altoona Regional for treatment of injuries of an unknown severity. The driver of the Pathfinder, Woodland resident Michael Sellers, suffered major injuries, as did passenger Roni Sellers. A boy and girl in the Sellers vehicle suffered moderate injuries.
State police were assisted at the scene by BJW Volunteer Fire Department, Hope Fire Company, Lawrence Townshp Fire Company, Reliance Fire Company, Goshen Fire Company, Clearfield Emergency Medical Services, Phililpsburg Emergency Medical Services, fire police and PennDOT.
