Man Accused of Possessing 28 Bags of Heroin Waives Hearing

CLEARFIELD – A Lower Burrell man arrested for allegedly possession 28 bags of heroin waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

Larry C. Wallace is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance while not being registered, intentional possession of a controlled substance while not being registered and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Court records indicate that Clearfield County Chief Deputy Sheriff Rob Snyder received a call indicating that Wallace was on his way to Lawrence Park Village. The caller also indicated that Wallace was bringing heroin.

Police decided to investigate. During their investigation police learned that Wallace had a warrant from the state for his arrest. Police then decided to search for Wallace and serve the warrant.

At one point a traffic stop was conducted along state Route 879 in Lawrence Township and it was learned that the driver of the vehicle was Wallace. The state’s arrest warrant was served on Wallace, who would be taken in for questioning.

Prior to being taken in, Wallace consented to allow animal control to take custody of a puppy in his vehicle.

Curwensville Borough’s K-9 unit, Zeus was brought in to search the perimeter of the vehicle. During the search Zeus indicated to the driver’s side door.

While in custody Wallace indicated that he had 28 stamp bags of heroin. He complied with a search of his vehicle, and the 28 bags of heroin were found.

Wallace is currently being held in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
