CURWENSVILLE – About 1,450 Penelec customers in Curwensville experienced a power outage Friday morning that lasted approximately 40 minutes.
According to Penelec Area Manager John Shimko, around 7:50 a.m. Friday morning an insulator located in the Curwensville substation failed causing the interruption on all three circuits fed out of the substation. Penelec crews were dispatched to the scene and cleared the broken insulator, then re-energized the substation restoring power at 8:31 a.m.
