DUBOIS – The DuBois Area School District Board of Directors may be getting closer to finding a replacement for their retiring Superintendent Sharon Kirk.
According to E. Lloyd McCreight, board chairman, the board has been speaking to one candidate about the position.
“We are presently in contact with a person,” said McCreight.
McCreight added that the two sides are still in the talking stages, and that the two sides will speak again this week. McCreight said the person the board is talking to is from outside the DuBois area but was originally from the area.
During their regular meeting Wednesday night, the board approved retirement agreement with Kirk.
Dec. 9 is when Kirk is scheduled to retire. In the event that a candidate cannot be found to fill the superintendent’s position, Timothy Deluccia, administrative assistant to the superintendent could fill in until a replacement is found.
