Armed Robbery Reported at Philipsburg Convenience Store

PHILIPSBURG – The Minit Mart in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County, was robbed early Tuesday morning.

State police at Philipsburg report that at about 12:23 a.m., a white male who was about 6 feet tall entered the store and showed what the clerk believes was a knife.

The man told the clerk to give him all the money from the store. The clerk complied by opening the cash register and giving the man the money.

The man then fled the tore and got into a light tan Chevrolet Astro van type of vehicle with damage to the passenger side sliding door.

The man was wearing some sort of white material over his head and face, leaving only his eyes exposed. He was also wearing a red plaid long-sleeved shirt and desert camo pants.

An unknown amount of money was taken from the store.

The investigation is continuing.
