ALTOONA – Ron McConnell, chief operating officer, recently presented three $1,000 checks to area fire departments as part of a collaborative agreement for bioterrorism preparedness.
Attending the presentation were (from left): Ron McConnell; Altoona City Fire Department assistant chief Greg Epple; Lakemont Volunteer Fire Company chief Tom Sral, and Newburg Volunteer Fire Department chief Robert M. Dennis Jr.
Other departments receiving checks but unable to attend the presentation included Logan Township United Fire Department, Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company and the Kittanning Trail Volunteer Fire Company.
