Penn State Football Traffic Update

CLEARFIELD  – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT/District 2) has issued the following update for the Interstate 80 Centre County project that impacts Penn State Football traffic. All work is weather and schedule dependent.

• Eastbound lanes in Centre County have no restrictions during Penn State home game weekends.
• Due to necessary project work, some lane restrictions westbound between the Bellefonte/161 exit and the Milesburg/158 exit may be in place and traffic may be delayed.
• To ease congestion, PennDOT has shortened the westbound work area restriction to within a mile east of the Bellefonte/161 exit.
• PennDOT will continue to monitor the work zone and make adjustments to accommodate traffic volumes when possible. • Overall project is ahead of schedule and is expected to be complete by the end of October, 2007. Original completion date was August 2008.

Additionally:
• Route 150 (Benner Pike) is ahead of schedule and all lane closures have been lifted.
• PennDOT will also clear U.S. Route 322, west of State College, ensuring that no construction or hauling vehicles will cross U.S. 322 near the “Skytop” construction zone. The construction zone itself is off of the roadway. Delays could occur due to heavy traffic volumes.

PennDOT reminds motorists to use caution in all work zones, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
