Clearfield Teachers Prepare for First Week of School

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Area School District teachers returned to work Monday morning to prepare for another successful year. The staff-only day began with a thank you from Superintendent Denise Keltz.

Noting the service of students, volunteers and professional staff, Keltz made sure to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work that goes into a successful school year.

Administration and Professional staff discussed “best practices,” how to imporve teaching to reach more students — espcially the struggling student and student-centered practice.

It is through these practices individual teachers plan to their classrooms to improved learning and better Pennsylvania System of School Assessment scores.

The PSSA is a standards-based assessment intended to measure individual student growth and determine the degree to which students are proficient in Pennsylvania’s academic standards in math and reading.

Tuesday teachers will have building meetings and make final preparations for student arrival.
