Arrest Warrant Served on Man Accused of Molesting Children

DUBOIS – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. announced Tuesday that an arrest warrant has been served on a Rochester Mills man charged with sexually molesting four girls.

Shaw identified the defendant as William Stewart, age 71, of Rochester Mills.

The criminal complaint filed by Sgt. Rodney Fairman of the Sandy Township Police Department charges Stewart with several counts including

Criminal Attempt, F1, 6 counts
Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child, F1, 6 counts
Aggravated Indecent Assault of a Child, F1, 6 counts
Indecent Assault, F3, 6 counts
Incest,F2, 1 count
Corruption of Minors, M1, 6 counts
Endangering the Welfare of Children, M1, 2 counts

An affidavit of probable cause filed with the complaint alleges that two 10-year-old female cousins were molested by the defendant while camping at the Cayman Landing Campground within Treasure Lake. A second set of victims identified as sisters being 9 and 8 years of age are
alleged to have been molested by the defendant while camping at the Cayman Landing Campground, and again at the defendant’s residence in Rochester Mills, Indiana County. The complaint states the molestation occurred between May and June .

Shaw reported the arrest warrant was served at the defendant’s home by Fairman, who was assisted by the Pennsylvania State Police, Indiana Barracks. The warrant was served without incident. The defendant was arraigned Tuesday and bail established at $50,000.00. A preliminary
hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 31.
