Gulfstream International Will Provide Service to DuBois Airport

DUBOIS – Gulfstream International Airlines Inc. will provide Essential Air Service to the DuBois Regional Airport.

The announcement comes after an order was issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation, stating that the company will provide services to several small airports both in and outside of Pennsylvania.

On May 3, Air Midwest and Mesa Airlines announced their intention to terminate air service at DuBois and other airports.

After receiving bids, the U.S. DOT announced that Gulfstream was the successful bidder.

The Clearfield-Jefferson Counties Regional Airport Authority is scheduled to hold their regular meeting where the U.S. DOT decision is on the agenda.

The authority notified the U.S. DOT that they had “reviewed the proposal submitted by Gulfstream International Airlines and find that it is acceptable.”

They went on to say, “We look forward to working with the new carrier.”

Gulfstream’s two-year contract will begin when the company initiates service. Until that time, Mesa is “held-in” to provide service at the airport.
