State College’s Park Avenue to Close Tuesday

CLEARFIELD  – A 36-hour closure and detour will be in effect from Tuesday at 7 p.m. through Thursday at 7 a.m. as repair work takes place along Park Avenue (state Route 3007) in State College.

Park Avenue will be closed from state Route 3022 (University Drive) to state Route 3014 (Atherton Street) in Centre County. This closure will be in effect 24 hours-a-day until Thursday. Detour signage will be in place to alert motorists to the closure and detour.

Motorists traveling eastbound will follow state Route 3014 (Atherton Street) to state Route 0026 (Beaver Avenue) to SR 3022 (University Drive).

Motorists traveling westbound will follow SR 3022 (University Drive) to state Route 26 (College Avenue) to SR 3014 (Atherton Street). All east- and west-bound traffic will be directed to take the clearly marked detours. This closure will only be between Shortlidge Road and Bigler Road. This detour will not impact traffic on local roads such as Shortlidge Road, Curtin Road and Bigler Road which will all be open in the immediate vicinity.

This short-term work is part of a utility tunnel under Park Avenue which will connect to the Dickinson Law School.

PennDOT reminds drivers to move through all work zones with caution, follow all detour signs, and always buckle-up.
