DEP Schedules Air Quality Hearing for BioEnergy

WILLIAMSPORT – The Department of Environmental Protection will hold a public meeting and hearing at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at the St. Francis School cafeteria, 230 South Second St., Clearfield, regarding Bionol Clearfield LLC’s air quality plan application to construct an ethanol plant in Clearfield Borough.
The meeting will include presentations by Bionol Clearfield and DEP, followed by a question-and-answer session. The public hearing, where citizens will be able to provide up to five minutes of oral testimony about the permit application, will follow at 8 p.m.

Additional written testimony of any length will be accepted that evening and until Sept. 4. People who wish to speak may register to testify the night of the hearing and will be called in the order they are registered.

A court reporter will record all testimony and DEP must provide a written response to all pertinent questions and comments when a final decision on the application is made.

The air quality application is available for public review, by appointment, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at DEP’s Northcentral regional office, 208 West Third St., Suite 101, Williamsport. Appointments can be made by calling Kathy Arndt at (570) 327-3693.
