PHILIPSBURG – Contractors on the Philipsburg streetscape enhancement and sewer/storm water separation project told Main Street officials they will be moving on to the final block this week.
Front Street will be closed for one block between Laurel and Presqueisle streets. New sidewalks have been installed on two of the three blocks within the project area which have made it a little easier to access buildings on Front Street. There will still be periodic closures of Front Street, between Locust and Laurel treets, as there are elements that will need to be completed including: road resurfacing, light pole installation, traffic signal removal, and other items.
Parking and traffic patterns which were put into place in June remain in effect; Pine Street is two-way from Centre Street to Front Street with parking on the south side only. Spruce Street is also open to two-way traffic from Centre Street to Front Street with parking on the North side only.
If you are traveling to a downtown destination call the business ahead of time to inquire about the best way to access their building.
