Armed Robbery Reported at DuBois Bar

DUBOIS – DuBois City Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened early Monday morning at a bar.

Police report that they arrived on scene at Julio’s Tavern on South Jared Street at about 1:34 a.m. Monday.

A male confronted a female employee at the bar as she was closing for the night. The man held the employee at gunpoint and demanded cash from the register. The man then placed the cash into a drawstring bag, left the bar and fled on foot.

The male is described as being white and in his mid-20s. He is about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build. He has dirty blonde hair and brown eyes. At the time of the incident he was believed to have been wearing  dark blue jeans and a navy blue “Nike” T-shirt.

The handgun allegedly used in the incident is described as a stainless revolver with a black grip.

DuBois City Police were assisted at the scene by Sandy Township Police and state police.
