White House Ceremony for Penn State Professor to be Streamed Live Via Webcast

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Nina V. Fedoroff, the Verne M. Willaman chair in life sciences and Evan Pugh professor at Penn State, and an external professor of the Santa Fe Institute, is one of eight scientists to named by President Bush to receive the 2006 National Medal of Science. The nation’s highest award for lifetime achievement in scientific research will be given to Fedoroff and the other honorees at a White House ceremony in Washington, D.C., beginning at 1:40 p.m. on Friday. (This time is a slight change from previous announcements as per President Bush’s schedule and could change again.) The event will be streamed live on the White House Web site.
