PUNXSUTAWNEY – An unnamed 12-year-old boy was flown to Altoona Regional Health System Tuesday morning after he accidentally shot himself in Jefferson County.
State police at Punxsutawney report that the boy had been handling a .22-caliber pistol along Jackson Run Road in Gaskill Township when the gun discharged at about 10 a.m., striking the boy in his left knee.
Police continue their investigation into the incident.
