State Police to Provide Proper Car Seat Installation Instructions

RIDGWAY – Troop C of the Pennsylvania State Police continues its effort to reduce the number of improperly installed child safety seats by offering free safety seat checks to the public.

At these events troopers will examine all child restraint seats for proper installation and parents will receive instructions on how to correct any deficiencies. These checks will also help identify defective seats and seats that are affected by recalls from the manufacturor.

With the recent implementation of additions to the Pennsylvaina Child Safety Seat Law, the checks provide an excellent opportunity to have any questions regarding the regulations asnwered.

Monthly child safety seat checks are provided in the following Troop C barracks:

Punxsutawney: First Friday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Clarion: Third Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Clearfield: Third Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
DuBois: Second Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Kane: Second Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Ridgway: Fourth Friday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tionesta: First Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
