CLEARFIELD – With votes from 71 of Clearfield County’s 71 precincts counted, John Sobel, and Joan Robinson McMillen appear to be the front-runners for the Republican slots on the November ballot. Total unnofficial results are forthcoming.
John Sobel received 22.12-percent of the vote, J. Barry Abbott received 19.63-percent of the vote, and Joan Robinson McMillen received 21.18-percent of the vote.
The remainder of the candidates are as follows: Sharon Josefik, 7.23-percent; Bill Rishel, 13.31-percent; Larry Lynn Garner, 4.47-percent; and Sam Carr, 11.35.
On the Democratic side, Mark McCracken and Rex Read received 50.42 – and 44.75-percent of the vote, respectively.
The top two Democrats and the top two Republicans will appear on the general election ballot. The top three vote-getters will become county commissioners.
Of all registered Clearfield County voters, 26.73-percent cast a ballot for the primary election at this point.
