Race to Save Lives Ends Lap 2

JOHNSTOWN – With lap two of of 27 completed in the American Red Cross’ Race to Save Lives, a total of 7,744 units of blood have been collected thus far.

The regional goal in the race is to reach 117,025 units.

From May 1 thru Oct. 31, donors will add units to the race.

Currently, there is less than a one-day supply of O positive, O negative, A negative and B negative. Supplies of all blood types are well below the optimal week’s supply.

Lap three is in progress this week

All presenting donors in the months of May and June will receive a short-sleeved racing T-shirt (while supplies last) and will be entered into a
drawing for two tickets to the 2008 Daytona 500, hotel and travel accommodations included. Plus, donors who donate three times
during the entire campaign (May – October) will be entered into a raffle for a $500 American Express Gift Card!
