ALTOONA – Altoona Regional Health System recently celebrated National Volunteer Recognition Week with the theme, “Volunteers: Priceless Treasures,” with various recognitions held for volunteers throughout the system.
More than 600 people, ranging in age from 14 to 94 and representing many diverse backgrounds, play an integral part in Altoona Regional’s journey to service and organizational excellence, Cindy Skupien, volunteer services manager, said. In 2006, 671 volunteers donated 108,433 hours.
