Rep. George reappointed to Joint Conservation Committee

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Camille “Bud” George, D-74 of Houtzdale, Thursay was reappointed to the bipartisan Joint Conservation Committee. The panel’s 18 members from the state House and Senate study pollution issues and laws and recommend changes to the General Assembly.

“The committee delves deeply into environmental issues affecting Pennsylvania, from mining and pollution issues to sewer and water infrastructure ,” said George, majority chair of the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee. “It is a tremendous resource for environmental action.” 

George’s two-year appointment to the 40-year-old committee, known formally as the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee, was made by House Speaker Dennis M. O’Brien, R-169 of Philadelphia.
