Townhouse Plans Gain First Approval in Sandy Township

DUBOIS – Some new housing could be in the future for Sandy Township after the supervisors gave preliminary approval to a 75-unit complex Monday night.

The complex, proposed by Fontana & Fontana of Greensburg, is being proposed on a 14.55-acre parcel of lane at Maple Street Extension and 14th Street.

The supervisors made their approval, requiring several additions as suggested by the township planning commission, the township engineer and the township code enforcement officer including the addition of three fire hydrants beyond what is required.

Developers plan to complete the townhouses in three phases with the first beginning as soon as supervisors provide final approval.
