Pilot Error Blamed for 2005 Centre County Airplane Crash

BELLEFONTE – The National Transportation Safety Board recently released the Probable Cause report for the plane crash that occurred near Bellefonte March 26, 2005, two years to the day after the crash.

The NTSB found that the pilot’s failure to maintain sufficient airspeed to avoid a stall resulted in an an accidental stall and/or spin. The NTSB also cited that the pilot’s failure to follow procedure and/or directives and clouds contributed to the crash that killed six near the new Bellefonte prison.
