Anderson Creek Bridge Project to Begin Monday

CLEARFIELD  – The Anderson Creek Bridge replacement is expected to begin during the week of April 2 and continue through November. The work zone for the project includes state Route 453 and Filbert Street in Curwensville from SR 879 (State Street) to the Anderson Creek Bridge.

The project includes new drainage, curb, sidewalks, paving, widening from Meadow Street to State Street and the replacement of the existing bridge with a new two span concrete bridge.

From the end of May, a local detour will be in place through late October to allow for the construction of the new bridge.

All work is weather-dependent. PennDOT will provide an update on the detour in mid-May.

During the replacement of the bridge, pedestrian traffic will be using a temporary walkway across Anderson Creek. Assess to this walkway will be down Water Street along the Tanner Run channel and across to Susquehanna Avenue.

The contractor for the $3.2 million dollar project is Francis J. Palo Inc. of Clarion.

As National Work Zone Awareness Week begins, PennDOT reminds motorists travel with caution through all work zones, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
