DUBois- According to event organizers, the DuBois Renaissance Showhouse 2007 has “taken on a life of its own”.
Due to a very successful open house and subsequent site visits, each room of the house has been requested by an area designer. Currently
there are 10 designers and 30-plus sponsors.

The Designer Showhouse will be open to the public June -23. It is the kick-off event for DuBois Arts Week.
This inaugural event focuses on the preservation/restoration of a turn-of-the-20th century home to its original, elegant splendor using creativity, found objects and new furnishings all while adding modern functionality and technology. The object is to highlight local designers, tradespeople,
artists and merchants, as well as demonstrate the adaptability and beauty of an older, urban home.
The house is located at 36 E. Long Ave. in downtown DuBois.
Anyone with old pictures, stories or history on this house or the families that lived there, is asked to contact one of the event organizers below or e-mail stewart@zitomedia.net. Some of the family last names discovered so far are Rodgers, Anthony, Donaldson and McCabe.
Some woodworking, plastering and general carpentry sponsors are still needed. If you have those skills, the group would like to highlight you through their marketing and showhouse promotions.
Organizers are also looking for people who like to have fun, meet new people and look at beautiful design to consider volunteering as a tour guide
or a boutique helper.
Tickets to tour the house will be $10, or $8 for groups of 5 or more.
