CLEARFIELD – A local police officer facing charges after an alleged incident with a woman in early March will have his hearing continued for a third time.
A hearing was scheduled on March 21, but was continued after the alleged victim requested to invoke her Fifth Amendment right. Magisterial District Judge James Hawkins continued the matter for one week so that the appropriate order could be obtained through the Clearfield County Court of Common Pleas.
According to the Clerk of Courts Office at the Clearfield County Courthouse, the new hearing date is scheduled for April 18.
No date has been set yet for the woman’s Fifth Amendment issue. Police are also investigating whether the alleged victim kicked the door of Houser’s truck during the evening in question.
